Gourds are Famous in Art

You wouldn't think so but they are. Since gourds were so much a part of everyday life on all of the continents of the world, they appear in art from around the world.

This includes art from the ancient Mississippian Era, 1000 AD in America, along with Peruvian items back to 100AD. Plus gourds made their way into paintings in Europe and some famous plant books too. And I include a few more recent depictions from Native American artists in the Southwest. ENJOY!
