You can plant these seeds in the spring.  The gourd once grown and dried can be kept for many years.  How to plant the seeds:

  1. It is best to soak them in water overnight or between wet paper towels before planting. 

  2. Wait!  They need to be planted in late spring, when the soil has already warmed up.

  3. They thrive in deep, rich, composed soil and in the full sun.  Plant them far apart (at least 3 feet) because they need lots of room to flourish.
